General description of this test grow
+ some basic grow tips:
- Water: soft water – consider filtering your tap water if it has an EC higher than 0.6 (osmosis,
ect). We use osmotic water (EC 0.0) then we mix it with tap water until we reach an EC of
0.3-0.4. At this point we raise the EC of 0.1 using Magnesium (as a liquid mono-nutrient)
until we reach 0.4 – 0.5. When we prepare our nuteient solution, we only use this water
as starting point before adding the nutrients. - Light: 600W
- Watering technique: flooding
- Plant resistance to pest
- We are using 16 pots of 6,5 liters each for every 1m 2

[su_tab title=”Week 1″]
Grow standards:
Temperature: | 24 – 28C (optimal: 26C) |
Humidity: | 70 |
EC: | 1.0 – 1.2 |
pH: | 6.2 – 6.5 |
CO2 ppm: | 400 |
Plant height (cm): | 15 |
Hours of light: | 18 |
Distance from light (600W HPS) (cm): | 100 – 120 |
Special operations during this week:
- EC water 1.2 – pH water 6.0 – 6.5 for pots
- Water with nutrients up to EC 1.2 and use a specific root stimulator in the tank during those first phases.
- Water from the top.
- We like to use Bio Vega and Bio Rhizotonic at this stage of the plant.
- Microorganisms: some growers like to use Tricoderma
Keep an eye on:
- Supervise clones starting properly in pot and root system develops into the new substrate.
- Distance of lamp to the top of the plant: 1,20 meter

[su_tab title=”Week 2″]
Grow standards:
Temperature: | 22 – 28C (optimal: 26C) |
Humidity: | 60 |
EC: | 1.2 – 1.4 |
pH: | 6.2 – 6.5 |
CO2 ppm: | 600 |
Plant height (cm): | 25 |
Hours of light: | 12 |
Distance from light (600W HPS) (cm): | 100 – 120 |
Special operations during this week:
- Supercropping: pinch the top stem with your fingers, just on top of the last internode, and bend it twice from left to right: this technique will lower the hight of the plant. At the same time you will have more development in the external branches of the plant, which will reach the same hight of the central bud.
- Flooding: water from the bottom. During this first week of 12 hours of light it is suggested to use small amounts of water for flooding. Ideally you should flood once every 2 days, this also avoids plant stretching.
- Use a fork on the dry surface of the pots to dig a bit and favor aeration of the pot. Be careful not to get close to the plant roots with the fork.
Keep an eye on:
- Crop protection: daily plant-by-plant checks using a magnifier to check for pests on plants
- Increase CO2 levels
- If you want to use a plastic net to support plants, install the net during this week.
- During this initial stage of flowering it is advisable to keep the same temperature in the grow room during the hours of light and darkness (day/night), we set it at 26ºC If the temperature in the room goes below 15ºC during the hours of darkness, you will stress the plants are you are likely to have a small harvest.

[su_tab title=”Week 3″]
Grow standards:
Temperature: | 22 – 28C (optimal: 26C) |
Humidity: | 60 |
EC: | 1.4 – 1.6 |
pH: | 6.2 – 6.5 |
CO2 ppm: | 800 |
Plant height (cm): | 35 |
Hours of light: | 12 |
Distance from light (600W HPS) (cm): | 100 – 120 |
Special operations during this week:
- Supercropping: pinch the top stem with your fingers, just on top of the last internode, and bend it twice from left to right: this technique will lower the hight of the plant. At the same time you will have more development in the external branches of the plant, which will reach the same hight of the central bud.
- Increase EC, CO2, start reducing humidity.
Keep an eye on:
- pruning: lower branches

[su_tab title=”Week 4″]
Grow standards:
Temperature: | 22 – 28C (optimal: 26C) |
Humidity: | 60 |
EC: | 1.4 – 1.6 |
pH: | 6.2 – 6.5 |
CO2 ppm: | 1000 |
Plant height (cm): | 45 |
Hours of light: | 12 |
Distance from light (600W HPS) (cm): | 100 – 120 |
Special operations during this week:
- Last trimming-pruning: remove leaves and branches that look unhealthy
- If you want to support your plant using plastic sticks, this is the week you are likely to start to need to place them in the pots to keep your plants standing up properly.
- For people using mineral/synthetic fertilizers: monitor the waste of your nutrient solution when you irrigate to evaluate it’s EC and pH. Look for accumulation of salts (residues of fertilizer) on the pot or around it. Flush with water that has the right pH (6.0) but no fertilizer if you get high waste values.
- We still use Bio Vega during this week and we start to use Bio Boost at this point too in the nurtient solution.
- Increase EC, CO2, keep on reducing humidity.

[su_tab title=”Week 5″]
Grow standards:
Temperature: | 22 – 28C (optimal: 26C) |
Humidity: | 50 |
EC: | 1.6 – 1.8 |
pH: | 6.2 – 6.5 |
CO2 ppm: | 1200 |
Plant height (cm): | 55 |
Hours of light: | 12 |
Distance from light (600W HPS) (cm): | 100 – 120 |
Special operations during this week:
- Make sure the plants get sufficient air. Plant mass has increase at this stage and are competing for light and space. Air flow should be maintained so that the air does not stagnate in any part of the room.
- At this stage plants start to develop their aromatic profile and the first “strange” perfumes will start to appear…
- We switch to the flowering fertilizer at this stage, in our case that is Bio Flores and we keep on adding also Bio Boost to the nutrient solution.
- Increase EC, CO2, keep on reducing humidity.
